Early this morning, the streets of Malta echoed with the footsteps of hundreds of walkers as they embarked on the 20th annual Puttinu Cares fundraising marathon. The event, which has become a cornerstone of Maltese solidarity, saw participants gather in Mellieħa before making the inspiring journey to Floriana—all in support of families facing medical challenges abroad.
The Heartbreaking Reality: "We Couldn’t Get a Room"
Many families share the same struggle: arriving in a foreign country for urgent treatment, only to find there’s nowhere to stay. Hospitals can’t house everyone, and hotels are expensive. Without proper accommodation, parents face an impossible choice—sleeping in hospital chairs or draining their savings on last-minute rentals.
