Living Our Faith: Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Let's reflect on a profound truth: "Actions speak louder than words." This wisdom holds the power to transform our lives and guide us on a path of authentic faith. Let us delve into the keynotes of this important message.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

In our journey of faith, we often encounter the timeless wisdom that "Actions speak louder than words." It reminds us that our deeds and actions carry more weight than mere words or declarations. It calls us to a higher standard of living out our beliefs, echoing the teachings of Jesus.

Faith Without Works Is Dead

We cannot discuss the significance of actions without recalling the biblical truth from James 2:17, "Faith without works is dead." This verse emphasizes that genuine faith is inseparable from corresponding actions. It invites us to bridge the gap between what we profess and how we live.

Demonstrating Our Beliefs

"Don't tell me what you believe; show me what you do, and I'll tell you what you believe." This quote reiterates that our beliefs become evident through our actions. It challenges us to be living testimonies of our faith, illustrating our convictions through the way we treat others and our daily choices.

Inspiring Change Through Actions

"Words may inspire, but only actions create change." This statement holds a profound truth. While words can motivate and encourage, lasting change and impact are born from our actions. Our faith comes alive when it fuels positive change in the lives of others.

Character Revealed Through Actions

"Character is revealed when pressure is applied." In challenging moments, our true character and the depth of our faith become evident. It's during these times that our actions truly reflect our inner convictions and beliefs.

Your Life as a Message

"Your life is your message to the world; make sure it's inspiring." This quote underscores that our lives are a canvas upon which we paint our beliefs and values. It challenges us to ensure that our actions paint a picture of love, compassion, and faith.

Doers of the Word

"Do not be hearers of the word only, but also doers." This paraphrase of James 1:22 echoes the call to action. It reminds us that our faith should translate into tangible deeds, not just passive listening or empty professions.

As we reflect on these keynotes, let us remember that our faith journey is not defined by words alone. It's about how we live out our beliefs in our daily lives. It's about embodying love, compassion, and service to others, just as Jesus taught us.

May our actions align with the principles of our faith, and may we be inspired to be true doers of the Word. Through our actions, may we inspire change, demonstrate our beliefs, and bring glory to God. Amen.

Il-Maħfra: Dak il-Pontli jwasslek minn stat ta’ weġgħa għal stat ta’ fejqan 🌉

Il-Maħfra hija dak il-bridge li jwasslek minn stat ta’ weġgħa għal stat ta’ fejqan 🌉

Il-Ħniena u l-Imħabba t’Alla huma bla limitu. Ir-Riżultat ta’ dan hija Maħfra bla qies. Min naħa tagħna aħna imsejjħin nimitaw lilu mal-oħrajn, irrelevanti għal kemm il-darba! Żgur li m’huwiex kunċett popolari, iżda l-verita’ hi li dan hu tagħlim prezzjuż li jinsab fil-qalba tat-tagħlim ta’ Ġesu u tal-Evanġelju.

Hija verita’ li meta jweġġgħek xi ħadd li tkun tirrispetta, tafda jew tħobb, ħafna drabi jiġri li timtela b’rabja, dispjaċir u tispiċċa taħseb u tikkunsidra modi kif se tirrejaġixxi jew aktar agħar li tpatti lura.

X’inhi l-maħfra?

Il-maħfra jista’ jkollha tifsiriet differenti għal persuni differenti, iżda ġeneralment tinvolvi li jkollok titlaq, iċċedi jew terħi minn ġo fik is-sentiment ta’ dispjaċir, il-ħsieb tal-azzjoni  jew weġgħa li xi hadd li jkun qrib tiegħek għamillek.

Jista’ jkun li l-azzjoni li weġġgħatek tibqa’ tħossha jew tesperjenza l-effetti tagħha, iżda meta taħfer tkun qiegħed tnaqqas minn fuqek jew tinħles kompletament mill-għafsa jew il-pressjoni ta’ din il-weġgħa li jkollok.

X’inhi s-sejjħa li illum qed jgħamlilna Ġesu’ ?

L-Ewwel nett qed jgħamlilna stedina sabiex b’mod personali naħdmu fuqna infusna. Stedina li twassalna biex ninħelsu minn irbit u toqol li ma jħalli xejn ħlief ħsara ġewwa fina.

Is-Siġra tingħaraf mill-frott tagħha. Il-Maħfra hija il-frott ta karattru sabieħ u b’saħħtu 💪

Ftit punti li tista taħdem dwarhom:

  • Irridu nifhmu li l-maħfra tirrikjedi impenn, jekk aħna irridu nikbru u nimxu ‘l quddiem.

  • Biex tasal taħfer trid tirrikonoxxi l-valur tal-maħfra u ta’ kif dan jista’ jtejjeb il-ħajja tiegħek.

  • Identifika fejn hemm bżonn il-fejqan bħal eż : lil min għandi naħfer u ta’ xiex għandi naħfer.

  • Ikkunsidra li titkellem ma xi ħadd li jista’ jagħtik sapport.

  • Irrikonoxxi u agħraf il-weġgħat li għamlulek u kif affetwawlek l-emozzjonijiet u l-imġieba tiegħek.

  • Hija għazla u deċizjoni personali li taħfer persuna li tkun weġġgħetek, u din ma tiddependi minn ħadd aktar ħliefek !

  • Inża ż-żarbun jew il-libsa tal-vittma u inqata’ mill-kontroll jew minn taħt il-qawwa li l-persuna li tkun weġġgħetek daħħlitek fiha.

Bħala komunita u bħala Insara attivi, Ġesu qed isejjħilna u jgħaddilna dir-risponsabilta li nwasslu dan il-messaġġ ta’ fejqan.

Ejjew flimkien inxerrdu u nxandru il-valur tal-maħfra li jiswa mitqlu deheb jekk irridu li l-paċi ssaltan f’ħajjitna. 💰

Għandna naħdmu u nenfasizzaw, li biex ikollna relazzjonijiet b’saħħithom, il-maħfra hija meħtieġa. Ejjew niftakru li ħadd minna m’hu perfett u għalhekk huwa faċli li nweġġgħu lil xulxin.

Ġesu’ qed iħeġġiġna sabiex, l-ewwelnett inwasslu dan il-messaġġ fil-prattika fil-familja tagħna u b’mod speċjali ma uliedna.

Ftakar din: L-Għaqda hija is-saħħa ta’ familja u l-maħfra hija dik il-kolla li żżommha magħquda flimkien 🤝

Id-Dinja hemm barra hija għattxana għall-Paċi !

F’dinja mimlija rizentiment u tpattija, Kull att ta maħfra huwa raġġ ta’ dawl 🌟

Iva, dan il-messaġġ ta’ Paċi u ħelsien għandna nwassluh ma kullħadd.

Il-Maħfra hija ċ-ċavetta li tħoll l-irbit tqil tar-riżentiment. Permezz tal-Maħfra tikseb il-ħelsien u l-fejqan !🗝️

Meta taħfer, tista’ tikber fil-mod ta’ kif tifhem lill-oħrajn u jikber fik is-sens ta’ kompassjoni, b’mod speċjali lejn dik il-persuna jew persuni li jkunu għamlulek xi azzjoni partikolari.

Meta taħfer ma jfissirx li tinsa jew tiskuża il-weġgħa li jkunu għamlulek, u mhux bilfors twassal li tirranġa mal-persuna partikolari, iżda meta taħfer tesperjenza sens ta’ paċi u trankwillità li b’hekk tkun tista tkompli miexi ‘l quddiem fil-ħajja tiegħek.

J’Alla il-maħfra tkun dik ix-xrara li tixgħellek it-triq ta’ ħajjtek sabiex tkompli miexi l-quddiem🔥

Ġesu Jgħid:

[Mt:6:12] Aħfrilna dnubietna, bħalma naħfru lil min hu ħati għalina.

[Mt:6:14] Għax jekk intom taħfru lill-bnedmin il-ħtijiet tagħhom, Missierkom li hu fis-smewwiet jaħfer lilkom ukoll. [Mt:6:15] Imma jekk intom ma taħfrux lill-bnedmin il-ħtijiet tagħhom, anqas Missierkom ma jaħfer lilkom il-ħtijiet tagħkom.

[Mk:11:25] U meta tkunu weqfin titolbu, jekk ikollkom xi ħaġa kontra xi ħadd, aħfru, biex ukoll Missierkom li hu fis-smewwiet jaħfer lilkom il-ħtijiet tagħkom."

[Lq:23:34] U Ġesù qal: "Missier, aħfrilhom, għax ma jafux x'inhuma jagħmlu.

Il-Ħila li taħfer tirrifletti l-profondità tar-relazzjoni tagħna mal-grazzja t'Alla."✨

Venom and Forgiveness: A Reflection on Healing by Nicolette Vella

No one dies from getting bitten by a snake.
It's their venom that kills you, can you understand my take?
You don't die from the bite but from the venom.
That poison- your resentment and bitterness; unless processed,
Will make you lose your inner momentum.

It will slowly affect and consume you.
Can you ask yourself, why do you need the people who've hurt you to say, "I've hurt you"?
Do you really need them to express how much it has hurt you?
What did it make you feel and do?

The reason people often find it so difficult to forgive,
Is the lack of acknowledgement that what has been done to them was wrong.

Please allow me to say this, as we walk along.
It was terribly unfair.
Believe me, I am aware.
I know it humiliated and hurt.
You didn't deserve to be betrayed, or be treated like dirt.

But please know this, it never affected your worth.
As a fellow wounded human, this is all I can give.
Do you think their apology will help you eliminate the cost of your suffering?

Using this subject as a reflection,
one can see that unforgiveness is a form of self protection.
Did you ever notice that metaphorically this is a transaction?
When one treats someone badly, they have a debt against their name.
God is neither blind nor tame.

Whatever happened, don't let their darkness manifest as yours, you are not to blame.
If you keep ruminating about it, you're indirectly allowing them to keep harming.
It's not worth it. You'll just keep mourning.

I know what they did to you was unfair.
You should not be healing from what they did to you, we all deserve warmth and care.
So when you feel like you're able to take a difficult step,
try to forgive but remember injustice is always to be condemned.
For you to feel light, not downtrodden and damned.

Embracing Change and Unveiling Potential: My Journey with The Call Youth Group

Hello there! I'm Jessica, a 24-year-old who, three years ago, embarked on a life-changing journey that has transformed me in more ways than I could have imagined. I'm excited to share my experience with you all, especially with the incredible community of The Call Ministries.

When I was introduced to The Call Youth Group by a dear friend, I had no idea that I was stepping into a realm of self-discovery, growth, and empowerment. The very name of the organisation, "The Call Ministries," struck a chord with me. It felt like an ongoing invitation, a call that beckoned me to answer and uncover the incredible potential within myself. Little did I know that answering this call would lead me to unlocking the extraordinary potential within myself.

From the moment I joined, I felt a sense of belonging and purpose that I hadn't experienced before. The youth group became more than just a community; it became my second family. The inclusivity and warmth that radiates from The Call Ministries is truly remarkable. Regardless of who you are or where you come from, you're welcomed with open arms. This sense of acceptance creates a safe space where everyone is loved and appreciated for exactly who they are.

One of the most transformative aspects of my journey with The Call Youth Group has been discovering my talents and accomplishments. Through the music ministry, I found an avenue to express myself and connect with others on a profound level. Over the past year, I've had the incredible opportunity to be part of recording songs that we proudly shared on various social media platforms. The feeling of contributing to something bigger than myself, alongside fellow talented and passionate individuals, is truly indescribable.

What's more, The Call Youth Group has entrusted me with the responsibility of leading youth meetings. This leadership role has not only bolstered my self-confidence but also given me the chance to inspire and guide others on their own journeys. The support and guidance provided by the group's leaders have been instrumental in my growth, both personally and spiritually.

Reflecting on my time with The Call Ministries, I'm filled with gratitude for the friendships formed, the challenges overcome, and the incredible moments shared. The journey has been about more than just self-discovery; it's been about embracing change, fostering a sense of community, and uplifting one another.

As I continue to evolve and grow within The Call Ministries, I'm excited to see where this journey takes me next. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that the call to unlock our potential is ongoing, and I'm eager to keep picking up that call.

Thank you for allowing me to share a glimpse of my story. If you're seeking a space where you can be your authentic self, explore your talents, and connect with others who are on a similar journey, I wholeheartedly encourage you to consider joining The Call Ministries. You might just find your second family and a path to unlocking your own extraordinary potential.

With gratitude and excitement,

Jessica Muscat

Life Lessons from Matthew 16:21-27: Embracing Sacrifice and Prioritizing the Eternal

Suffering and Rejection: Jesus predicts His suffering, death, and resurrection. This passage teaches us that suffering and rejection may be part of our journey as followers of Christ.

Self-Denial: Jesus emphasizes the need for self-denial, saying that those who want to follow Him must deny themselves. This means putting aside our own desires and priorities to serve God.

Taking Up the Cross: Jesus uses the metaphor of taking up one's cross. This implies a willingness to bear the burdens and challenges that come with discipleship, even if it means facing hardships.

Gaining and Losing: Jesus poses a rhetorical question about gaining the whole world but forfeiting one's soul. This teaches us the value of our eternal soul over earthly possessions and success.

Profit vs. Loss: The passage encourages us to consider what is truly profitable in the long run. It suggests that gaining the world's riches can be a loss if it leads to the loss of one's soul.

Reward for Faithfulness: Jesus promises that those who are faithful to Him will be rewarded. This underscores the importance of enduring faith and perseverance in the face of challenges.

Coming Judgment: Jesus mentions His return and the judgment that will accompany it. This reminds us of the ultimate accountability we have for our actions and choices.

Prioritizing God's Kingdom: Ultimately, the passage teaches us to prioritize God's kingdom and righteousness above all else. Seeking God's will and following Him faithfully should be our primary focus.

Embarking on a Transformative Journey: My World Youth Day Experience

In the heart of Lisbon, amidst a whirlwind of emotions, I embarked on a journey that would forever change my perspective on life and faith. World Youth Day in Lisbon was not just an event; it was a roller coaster of emotions, a pilgrimage that revealed the true essence of life's challenges and joys.

Picture this: a two-hour trek from the gymnasium we were lodged in to Parque Tejo, the destination of the event. The exhaustion was real, and the path wasn't easy. But what I learned was that life's journey isn't meant to be smooth all the time; it's a pilgrimage that shapes us. The camaraderie formed during the walk made it more than just a trek; it became a shared experience that brought us closer together.

My initial expectations were exceeded beyond measure. I had always yearned to witness the vitality of the Church through the eyes of young people. This experience did exactly that and more. It taught me that life is a voyage, and we are all in it together, supporting each other through its challenges.

The theme, "Mary arose and went with haste," resonated deeply within me. It wasn't about waiting; it was about taking action in the present. Mary's selflessness in rushing to assist Elizabeth showcased a sense of urgency, a willingness to prioritize others over oneself. Pope Francis's words during the vigil echoed this sentiment – Mary's joy was her mission, one she shared wholeheartedly. This theme inspired me to spread the joy I've received from my community and family, making it my mission to touch the lives of others.

Looking back, World Youth Day left an indelible impact on my life. It pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, connect with new people, and forge friendships. As I ventured alone, I discovered the power of community and unity. My faith was fortified; I learned to approach Christ with an open heart, realizing He's much more accessible than I'd ever imagined.

Empowerment for positive change was the essence of the event, and it ignited a fire within me. Leading youth meetings, using my talents for God's glory, sharing reflections on social media – these became my channels for contributing to my community. The desire to serve, to make a difference, burned brighter than ever. Praying the rosary with a global community through Worldwide Rosary became my way of connecting with the world and spreading positivity.

For those considering future World Youth Day participation, my advice is simple: if the desire is strong, seize the opportunity. Prepare to be transformed not only by the main events but also by the connections you form, the insights you gain from fellow participants, and the small moments that shape your journey. Remember to pack a reliable sleeping bag and a sleeping mat, and beyond that, embrace every moment.

World Youth Day isn't just an event; it's a transformative expedition of the heart and soul. It's a call to action, a pilgrimage that shows you the power of community, faith, and spreading joy. My journey in Lisbon was just the beginning, and I carry its lessons with me, driven to make positive changes in my community and the world around me.
